From the Telegraph of 8 Oct 2020: ASHBURTON The Lord, (John Baring), KG KCVO. Peacefully at home on 6th October, 2020 aged 91. Family only funeral to be followed by a celebration of his life at a later date.

He was s of 6th Baron ASHBURTON (1898-1991) and Hon Doris Mary Therese HARCOURT (1900-81) d of 1st Viscount HARCOURT (1863-1922). He m 1st 1955 (div 1984) Hon Susan Mary RENWICK (b 1930) d of 1st Baron RENWICK (1904-73), and had two sons and two daus. He 2nd 1987 as her 2nd h Sarah Cornelia (b 1935, formerly Mrs Colin Crewe, scion of the CREWE marquess and SOMERSET dukes) d of Maj John George SPENCER-CHURCHILL (1909-92) gs of Lord Randolph Henry SPENCER-CHURCHILL (1849-95, s of 7th Duke of MARLBOROUGH (1822-83) and father of the Prime Minister Sir Winston Leonard SPENCER-CHURCHILL KG &c (1874-1965)). His elder son succeeds him.

[Rt Hon] Mark Francis Robert BARING (b 1958) [8th Baron], has yet to establish his claim and appear on The Peerage Roll. He m 1st 1983 (div 2014) Miranda Caroline (b 1961) d of Capt Charles St John Graham MONCRIEFF (b 1931, 4xgt gs of 2nd Viscount BOLINGBROKE (1732-87) and 5xgt gs of 3rd Duke of MARLBOROUGH (1706-58) etc) scion of that Scots gentry family of Kinmonth, and Joanna Dava PETO (1938-2005, gd of Sir Basil Edward PETO 1st Bt (1862-1945)), and had two sons and two daus. He m 2nd 2016 as her 2nd h Sophia Caroline (b 1966) d of Edward William Eden ANDREWES and Frances Elizabeth GORDON-DUFF (b 1940) scion of that Scots gentry family of Park and Drummuir.

The 7th Lord Ashburton, who has died aged 91, was a patriarch of the Baring banking dynasty and the founder, on his Hampshire estate, of the Grange Park opera festival.
...The family partners acquired huge wealth and estates – and a clutch of peerages, of which the barony of Ashburton (in which John succeeded his father in 1991) was created for Francis Baring’s second son Alexander.
...In the different sphere of heritage conservation, John Baring acquired the reputation of an iconoclast – and the nickname “Basher Baring”. In 1963 he demolished the neoclassical mansion of Stratton Park in Hampshire (built for Francis Baring), keeping only its magnificent portico and replacing the house itself with a modernist house designed by Stephen Gardiner and Christopher Knight.
He went on to buy back the nearby 600-acre Grange Park estate, which had passed out of Baring hands before the war. His interest was in the farmland, the palatial house in Greek Doric style having fallen into dilapidation after military occupation. A 19th-century wing was removed and permission secured to demolish the rest.
...John Francis Harcourt Baring was born on November 2 1928, the elder son of Alec Baring, 6th Lord Ashburton, and his wife Doris, daughter of the 1st Viscount Harcourt.
...He was appointed CVO in 1980, knighted in 1983, raised to KCVO in 1990 and created a Knight of the Garter in 1994. He was a faithful member of the Church of England, was quietly proud of his role in the annual Garter ceremony, and loved the countryside, taking a knowledgeable interest in trees, birds and rivers.
John Baring married first, in 1955, Susan, daughter of the 1st Lord Renwick, with whom he had two sons and two daughters. The marriage was dissolved in 1984, and in 1987 he married Sally Crewe, daughter of the artist John Spencer Churchill (nephew of Sir Winston), who survives him with the children of his first marriage.
The Ashburton title passes to his son Mark, born in 1958.

The 8th Baron has established his claim to the peerage.  See Minutes of Proceedings for House of Lords 22 April 2021:

Barony of Ashburton in the Peerage of the United Kingdom The Lord Chancellor reported that Mark Francis Robert Baring had established his claim to the Barony of Ashburton in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. The Clerk of the Parliaments was accordingly directed to enter Lord Ashburton on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 9(4).

The Telegraph of 6 Oct 2021 has confirmed the memorial service details published in the Times of 8 Sept 2021: ASHBURTON Late Lord Ashburton. A Memorial Service for the life of John Baring, Lord Ashburton will be held at 12 noon on Friday 15th October in Winchester Cathedral. All welcome.
