From the Telegraph of 15 August 2015: WHITCOMBE On August 11th Philip Arthur Whitcombe of Green Cross Farm died peacefully at home aged 92. Father of Robert and Susie and proud grandfather of Henry,Dug, Charles and Mimi. Funeral at St John the Evangelist, Churt 24 August 11.30 am. Enquiries to Funeral Directors Gould and Chapman.
He was yr s of Maj-Gen Philip Sidney WHITCOMBE CB OBE (1893-1989), sometime head of that gentry family of Clay, and Madeline Leila Brydges (1883-1977) d of Rev Canon Arthur SYMONDS of Over Tabley, Knutsford, Cheshire. He m 1954 Hon Rosemary Anne Heather COLVILLE (1927-2009), d of 1st Baron CLYDESMUIR GCIE (1894-1954) and Agnes Anne CI (1896-1970) d of Sir William BISLAND 1st Bt (1847-1921), and had a son and a dau as above.
