From the Telegraph of 31 July 2014: BOWMAN-VAUGHAN  Alyson, Patricia. On 28th July 2014 died peacefully at the age of 85, loving wife of Michael, brilliant and adored mother of Jerome's children: Charles, Helena, Piers, Juliet, Mary-Lou, Fabia and Tessa Sturridge and stepmother to Annabel, Juliet, Venetia and Tommy Bowman-Vaughan. Beloved grandmother to Jaspar, Lucy, Caitlin, Tom, Rosy, Matilda, Scarlett, Max, Josef, Arthur, Hubert, Jessie, Cressida, Nathan, Freddie, Lettie, Hester and Clemmie and great-grandmother to Rudy, Marlowe and Oscar. Funeral Stoke Charity, Hampshire on 4th August at 2 p.m. Memorial to follow. Enquiries to Richard Steel & Partners.

She was d of A P BURKE of Holly Croft, Ikley, Yorkshire (and formerly w of Jerome Francis Sturridge). She m 2nd (as his 2nd w) Michael John (1927-2013) s of Capt John B BOWMAN-VAUGHAN (d 1943) and Margaret (Mary) _ (d 1967). Michael Bowman-Vaughan m 1st 1948 (?div 19__) Nancy Amelia (1924-2000) d of Brig-Gen Sir Thomas Dare JACKSON 2nd Bt DSO MVO JP DL (1876-1954) and (Mary Lilian) Vera Massy (Vera) (1891-1975) d of Brig-Gen Samuel Eyre Massy LLOYD CBE JP DL (1867-1952), scion of the gentry family of that name, and Nancy (d 1934) d E Madoc JONES JP of Glentworth, Oswestry, Shropshire.

By her 1st husb. Jerome Sturridge,the late Alyson was mother to the noted actor/director/producer Charles{TV's Brideshead Revisited,etc.},who by his wife actress Phoebe Nicholls,is father to actor Tom.
