She was d of William Black Rankin MONTEITH 1898-1974 by his 8 April 1931 m (St Mary, Worplesdon) to Kathleen Mary 1900-89 d of Maj-Gen Sir (Michael) Graham Egerton BOWMAN-MANIFOLD KBE CB CMG DSO 1871-1940 and Kathleen Cecilia 1874-1954 d of Adm Sir Thomas BRANDRETH KCB 1825-94 scion of the WATSON-GANDY Scots gentry family barons of Myrton, and Madeline 1843-1916 d of Alexander COLVIN 1787-1864 and his w & 1^st cousin (both gc of Alexander COLVIN 1718-91) Elizabeth Jackson COLVIN 1803-56. She m 1959 Robert (Robin) Henry Nevile 1921-2004 s of Sir Henry Thomas Alexander DASHWOOD 1878-1959 (2xgt gs of Sir James DASHWOOD 2^nd Bt 1715-79) and Norah Creina Bruce (10 May)1886-1948 d of Henry Arthur WHATELY 1855-1957 sometime head of that gentry family of Midford Castle and his 1^st w Hon Nora Creina Blanche BRUCE 1859-(26 May)1886 d of 1^st Baron ABERDARE 1815-95 by his w a 2xgt gd of 6^th Lord NAPIER OF MERCHISTOUN c1702-73, and had two sons as above
