SMITH, Humphrey Richard Woollcombe (1944 - 2026)

Humphrey Richard Woollcombe SMITH, head of the Samuel Smith brewing family of Tadcaster in the West Riding of Yorkshire, died on 29 June 2026 (thirty-six years to the day since the death of his mother), aged 81. He was born on 17 December 1944, as the elder son of Geoffrey Roy Holland SMITH (30 VI 1901 - 9 V 1964) and his wife (married 22 VIII 1942), Rosamond Margaret Stirling WOOLLCOMBE (21 IX 1919 - 29 VI 1990), of that landed gentry (LG) family.

 

He was married in 1985 to Julia Carlota GLADSTONE (born 16 I 1956), of that LG family, of Capenoch, by whom he had one son and one daughter.
