Born Aug 17, 1936 in London, England to parents Sir Gilbert Davis and Kay White Passed away peacefully in North York General Hospital on October 25, 2019 after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind Elizabeth {Libby} his loving wife of nearly 60 years, his children, Wendy (Tom), Linda and Richard (Patricia) and his four grandchildren Spencer, Kendra, Zachary and Elijah who adored their Poppa. He also will be sadly missed by his niece Alison (Roger) and extended family in England. John was born in London, England to parents Gilbert and Kay, and was pre-deceased by his sister Ann, and her son Mark. He immigrated to Montreal in 1957 where he met and married Libby, and raised his young family. [...]

He was the only son of Sir Gilbert DAVIS, 2nd Baronet (1900 - 1973) and Kathleen [Kay] FORD. He married Elizabeth [Libby] Margaret TURNBULL, and had 1 son and 2 dau as in the notice. His son, (Sir) Richard Charles DAVIS (4th Baronet) succeeds him.

My copy of Debrett's 2003 does not list any marriages of the children of the 3rd Baronet, nor issue thereof, but clearly there has been some.  Kershaw lists this title as A 1970, indicating that Richard is thought to be the last in line, but if one of the boys is a legitimate son of him, then there are further heirs.

I cannot locate the Baronet listing in the 106th or 107th edition of Burkes peerage !.

In Debretts 1995 Edition the following is mention:

Sir John Gilbert David, 3rd Baronet, b. 17 April 1936, married 1960 to Elizabeth Margaret, eld day of Robert Smith Turnbull of Falkirk, with issue.

1. Richard Charles Davis, 11 April 1970.

2. Wendy Elisabeth Davis, 1962.

3. Linda Mary Davis, 1964.

Has a sister, Ann, 1931-, married and divorced to John Robert Whatley, with issue.

In Debrett's 2019, there is no one else in remainder to the baronetcy after the new baronet.

Hi all,

Does anyone have any intel on the mystery of the Davis Bt Wikipedia page, per chance please? Currently it is showing two baronets alive at the same time, both Sir Richard (b 1970) and Sir Elijah (b 1998). I deduce that Elijah is the grandson of Richard's mother Libby, so he is at the very least the current (if he is still living) baronet's nephew if not his son. DBP suggests that Richard 'may have two sons' but doesn't give names of the issue of any of the Davis grandchildren, since Richard's sister Wendy also is listed as having issue but none are named. 

I haven't seen a death notice for Sir Richard anywhere though it seems that the family is in North America so it may be that it hasn't filtered through yet. 

If anyone happens to know I'd be grateful please – as would DBP for whom I am undertaking this task as I am now working on the peerage database part-time.
