Supposed heirs to the Princely title of Leporano are the sister and her children from the Taccone family though titles in Italy have not been in succession to female descent since 1926 ruling. No changes have occurred since Italy is a republic.

Out of interest would the children of a non Holy Roman Empire  (Neapolitan princes aside also) Italian prince's children be style counts ad infinitem like the Northern European system?

No, either Nobile or Don/Donna. Holy Roman Empire titles are styled to all descendants heirs males. Titles of Duca, Marchese, Conte, Visconte and Barone depending on the creation can be to all descendants heirs male.

With the exception of the Prince/Dukes of Arenburg, I have never seen a ducal title descend to all male members of a family (German royalty aside). Marquises, Counts and Barons of the HRE most certainly. Are there any Viscounts of the HRE still extant?

I don't believe I have come across a Viscount of the Holy Roman Empire.
