Another Bamford marriage, this time into landed gentry - Joe Bamford
(aged 28 or 30? see articles below) married Alex Gore-Browne, aged
31?

1. Question on their birth years?

She is said to be 33 in April 2009, but was 30 in 2005. Her husband's
age is similarly puzzling - 25 in 2004, if he is 26 in 2005, but also
said to be 23. Are the parties fudging their ages, or is the Daily
Mail guilty of sloppy reporting?

This was reported on this group, but didn't come up in the initial
search!

Gore Browne, and a gt-granddaughter of Colonel Sir Eric Gore-Browne,

They now have a daughter Matilda as of 2009.

Gore-Browne family
---------------------------

The Gore-Brownes have colonial links

1. Governor Thomas Gore Browne (1807-1887) governor of New Zealand?

2. Lt-Col Sir Stewart Gore Browne, DSO, JP, (b. 3 May, 1883; d. 4
August, 1967) knighted 1945. On his ex-wife below
. Lorna Gore-Browne

[In December 2001 Michael Rhodes reported a death of a Lorna Gore-
Browne

A brief announcement in the Times, 15 December, 2001, states that
Lorna Gore Browne died at Highgate, 12 December, 2001. No further
details. The Gore Browne family is gentry, long settled in Rutland at
Glaston House, and I can spot only one lady who answers to Lorna Gore
Browne. She is/was Lady Gore Browne, former wife of Lt-Col Sir
Stewart
Gore Browne, DSO, JP, (b. 3 May, 1883; d. 4 August, 1967). She was
Lorna Grace Bosworth, daughter of Professor Edwin Allen Goldman, FRS,
by his wife Lorna Lawrence Bosworth Smith (scion of the Smith-
Marriott
Baronets), and married 23 July, 1927. Her husband was knighted in
1945, and they divorced in 1950. They had a daughter, Lorna Katherine
Gore Browne, (b. 1929), who married in 1951, Charles Penrose Harvey.
This mother and daughter are the only members of the Gore Browne
family with the forename Lorna. Sadly, the death notice fails to give
an age for the deceased lady. It could be either mother or daughter,
the latter may have reverted to her maiden name.

More information on the Bamford family, who made their fortune in the
first generation with Joe Bamford's diggers. Sir George Bamford is
the son of Joe Bamford

(2004 article)

Another brother Sir Anthony Bamford, now 63 and chairman of digger
maker JCB, owns a home in Barbados. He and his wife Carole have two
children Alice (now 31) and Joe (now 28).

[snipped]
Sir Anthony, 58 [now 63], whose late father Joe founded the JCB
business in 1945 making farm trailers in a Staffordshire garage, hopes
that Joe Junior will eventually join the family business.

In the meantime Joe [aged 23 in 2004, now 28], who graduated in
archaeology at Edinburgh University, is working in the City as a
trainee fund manager at New Star Asset Management.

[He overcame a marijuana addiction after he broke up with Petrina
Khashoggi, then 22, and now 27]

Joe's sister Alice, 26 [now 31], works as a record producer.

Joe and Alex's history
--------------------------------

Joe Bamford, who was in a two-year-relationship with Petrina Khashoggi
2003-2005, is now married to Alex Gore-Browne, aged 33 in 2009, and
has a baby daughter Matilda. See [http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/
article-1196831/Lifeswap-Cut-country.html] for a photo and interview
with Alex Gore-Browne. The couple now live in Staffordshire. Alex
Gore-Browne is a knitwear designer [http://www.alexgorebrowne.com]

The younger Bamfords met in 2005 when he was 26 and she was 30. She
was a friend of Lady Kinvara Balfour (then dating Ben Fogle, who has
since married another woman), a niece of the Duke of Norfolk and
second daughter of the Earl Balfour. Her father AGS Gore-Browne
attended the memorial service for the 17th Duke of Norfolk, so they
were connected in other ways, perhaps.

Again sloppy reporting, or did he date two half-sisters?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/columnists/article-304339/My-way-Finnish.html
26 May 2004

"Frisky Ali - who often visits her Serbian-born mother at her Monaco
home - has put smiles on faces of men throughout London society. Her
romantic dalliances include amateur racing driver Ed Horner, JCB
digger heir Joe Bamford, party organiser Justin Etzin and, so it is
said, actor Benicio Del Toro, who starred in The Usual Suspects."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/columnists/article-259686/Aitkens-girl-Im-addicted-love.html
unknown date - probably 2002-2003

"[Petrina] is also understood to have been depressed after the end of
her relationship with Joe Bamford, son of JCB construction billionaire
Sir Anthony Bamford."

and

"Her former lovers include JCB heir Joe Bamford and property tycoon
Damian Aspinall, and she is currently stepping out with Viscount
Anson, 25, son of the Earl of Lichfield, the society photographer."

Petrina Khashoggi, daughter of Soraya Khashoggi by Jonathan Aitken
(then married to Lolicia), has dated a long string of aristocrats -
Viscount Anson (the relationship soon ended), Lord Edward Spencer-
Churchill (the relationship has ended), and others.

Own goal! Yes, he did apparently.

In 2005, the Daily Mail reported:

"The archaeology graduate squired Alexandra Aitken and Petrina
Khashoggi, hardpartying daughters of former jailbird Tory MP Jonathan
Aitken".
