From the Telegraph of 9 Nov 2023: CLOSE-BROOKS Charles Beresford on 27th October, after a long illness. Much loved husband of Lorna, father of George and William, grandfather to Katie, Isla, Tom, Alice and Freddie. He will be missed by the family and many friends. Funeral Service on Thursday 23rd November at 11.30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Wonston, Winchester... Donations if desired to the Alzheimer's Society.

He wa s of Lt-Col Neville Beresford CLOSE-BROOKS 1909-59* and and Phyllis Katherine KIDNER 1915-90 scion of that gentry family of Old Hall, Colton. He m 1975 reg Q2 Surrey Lorna Mary b 1949 reg Q3 Kent d of Harry George TUDBALL 1910-96 and Faith Mary V FOWLER 1918-2006, and had two sons (William Neville b c1979 reg Q1 Hants (who is m with issue) and George Colin b 1976 reg Q2 Winchester).

*Lt-Col Neville C-B was s of Lt John Charles CLOSE-BROOKS 1876-ka1914, scion of the CRAWSHAW barons, and Marie Agnes Beresford LOVETT 1877-1962 scion of that gentry family f/o Liscombe. See Burke's Family Records pp110-113 for the Close-Brooks family.
