_. The Lady Aline Caroline Cholmondeley, who died 30 June, 2015, aged 98, was a scion of the Marquesses of Cholmondeley (Marquess, UK, cr 1815).

She was born 5 Oct, 1916, the only daughter of George Horatio Charles, 5th Marquess of Cholmondeley, GCVO (1883-1968) Joint Hereditary Lord Great Chamberlain acting for the reign of King Edward VIII in 1936 and for Queen Elizabeth II 1952-66, by his wife the former Sybil Rachel Betty Cecile Sassoon, CBE (d 1989) scion of the baronets of that name.

Lady Aline, who never married, was sister of the 6th Marquess (1919-90), and aunt of the current 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley.
