From the Times of 12 May 2023: SLADE Jane Gwenllian Armstrong on 4th May 2023, peacefully at home, aged 86. Beloved wife of the late Christopher, mother of Lucinda, Victoria, Richard and Amelia, grandmother and great-grandmother. Thanksgiving service at Chelsea Old Church, London SW3 at 3.30pm on Tuesday 6th June 2023. No flowers.

She was d of Rt Hon Sir Denys Burton BUCKLEY MBE 1906-98 (s of 1st Baron WRENBURY 1845-1935) and Gwendolen Jane 1905-85 d of Sir Robert ARMSTRONG-JONES CBE 1857-1943 (gf of 1st Earl of SNOWDON 1930-2017). She m 1958 Rt Hon Sir Christopher John 1927-2022 s of George Penkivil SLADE 1899-1942 and Mary Albinia Alice 1896-1988 d of William Hartley CARNEGIE 1859-1936 and his 1st w Albinia Frances c1868-1902 d of Sir Thomas Hyde CRAWLEY-BOEVEY 5th Bt 1837-1912, and had a son and three daus as above.
