From the Times of 10 March 2020: HOLROYD Charles John died on 27th February 2020, aged 86. Much loved husband of Amanda, father of Charles, Joanna and George and grandfather of Miranda, Theo, Tony and Matilda. Service of Thanksgiving at 12.00hrs on 20 April 2020 at St Nicolas' Church, Chute and afterwards at the Village Hall. No flowers please but donations, if desired, to the Countess of Brecknock Hospice, Andover.
He was s of Maj Charles Ivor Patrick HOLROYD (1900-76) and Lady Sheila Mary CAIRNS (1905-2000) d of 4th Earl CAIRNS (1865-1946) and Olive (1871-1952) d of John Patteson COBBOLD MP (1831-75), scion of the gentry family of that name of Glemham Hall formerly of Holywells, and Adela Harriette DUPUIS (c1837-1917). He m 1969 Amanda Jane (b 1940) d of Col Sir Richard Hamilton GLYN OBE TD 5th & 9th Bt (1907-80) and Lyndsay Mary BAKER (1911-71), and had two sons and a dau as above
