From the Telegraph of 2 April 2026: PRETOR-PINNEY Anthony Robert Edmund of Somerton, Somerset, died peacefully on 23rd March 2026, aged 95. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Funeral at St Michael & All Angels' Church, Somerton, Somerset on Thursday 23rd April at 2 p.m.

He was s of Lt-Cdr Giles Robert PRETOR-PINNEY RN 1897-ka1942 (who he succ. as) head of that gentry family of Somerton Erleigh and as her 1 h Lucy Theodosia Gascoigne (Mrs John Musters) 1901-80 d of Edmund Henry FOWLE 1859-1914 by his 7 Aug 1884 m (Christ Church, Chatburn, Lancs) to Lucy ROBINSON 1861-1901. He m 1963 Laura Uppercu, d of George Winthrop HAIGHT of 155, East 82nd Street, New York, USA, and had 2 sons and a dau:

1. GILES WINTHROP b 1963: m 1996 reg Q4 Salisbury Caroline (Carlie) A BIRD, and had issue
