VICKY HOLLOWAY
Originally printed on August 12, 2021 in the Exmouth Journal.

"HOLLOWAY VICKY died peacefully, aged 92, on 12th July in Surrey County Hospital, Guildford. She spent from the mid 1970’s to the early 1980’s teaching Biology at Exmouth School and loved it. She made many very good and special friends in and around Exmouth including those at the school, those in the town band with whom she played regularly for several years, those she painted portraits for, her spin-off music group ‘Doubtful Sound’ (named after a trip to the New Zealand sound of the same name!) and her very loyal chamber music friends whom she regularly hosted in her home in Exmouth. Dear Vicky - much loved and missed by us all."

Name, age and location match Victoria, born 1929, daughter of Richard Strachey (1902-1976), of the Baronets. She married 1952 Mark Graham Holloway, and was living in Exmouth as of the 2019 Debrett's.

Debrett's does not menton this, but Burke's says that she had taken the surname "Hunter" by deed poll in 1951; her sister Philippa (b.1927; still living") took the surname "Hawtin" by deed poll in 1961. I wonder whether there was some reason these sisters gave up their father's name.
