Dear all,

Following on from my post about Lord Higgins, I was wondering how many other members of the peerage, baronetage and landed gentry had competed at the Olympic Games since they were revived in 1896 and the Paralympic Games since they began in 1960. I would be interested to hear about any others you have come across.

I find that Grok AI sometimes has good answers and sometimes bad. It gave the following results, but I cannot vouch for its accuracy:

Walter James, 4th Baron Northbourne: Won a silver medal in rowing as part of the Men's Eights in the 1920 Olympics.
David Carnegie, 11th Earl of Northesk: Won a bronze medal in skeleton at the 1928 Winter Olympics.
Frederick ('Freddie') Edward Guest: Won a bronze medal with the British polo team in the 1924 Olympics while serving as an MP.
Terence Higgins, Baron Higgins: Competed in the men's 400 meters at the 1952 Summer Olympics.
John Aymer Dalrymple, 13th Earl of Stair: Competed in bobsleigh at the 1928 Winter Olympics.

Lawrence Clarke, present 7th Baronet Dunham Lodge,  came in 4th place in the 110 Hurdle Track & Field event in the 2012 Olympics. I remember seeing that  event on television while watching the Olympics , though I didn't know at that time that his family was in the Peerage.

Sorry, I just realized that baronets aren't in the Peerage.

Sorry-- My second sentence should have read:  "Most have been listed in the previous posts."

My apologies.

Although neither members of the Peerage or Baronetage, I will add The Princess Royal who competed in the 1976 Olympics (in equestrian) , and her daughter, Zara Tindall , who won a silver medal in the 2012 Games in the team event in  equestrian.
