The engagement was announced 15 April, 2015, between Christopher David Janson (born 1984), scion of the Earls of Sutherland (Earl, Scot, cr circa 1235), youngest son of the Hon Martin Dearman Sutherland Janson (born 1947), by his wife the former Hon Mary Ann Balfour (see Balfour of Inchrye), & Henrietta Carmelina Boag, daughter of Mr & Mrs Peter Boag, of Westhumble.

Christopher Janson is a grandson of the Countess of Sutherland, 24th holder of the peerage.
