From the Times of 20 March 2026: BURGH Lady Anita (née Eldridge) aka Leith peacefully on the 14th March, aged 88. Anita, born Gillingham, Kent. A life touching London, Cambridge, Athens, Exmoor, Devon, Sutherland, Bristol, the Haute-Loire, Cornwall, Bibury and finally south Gloucestershire. Novelist. Much loved by family, friends and fans. With huge thanks to the wonderful carers, nurses and staff at Badminton Place, Bristol.

She was d of Frederick Clements ELDRIDGE 1900-73 of Gillingham, Kent by his 1928 m reg Q3 Kent to Alice Louisa MILNER 1902-. She m 1957 as his 1 w the 7 Baron BURGH 1935-2001 and had two sons (incl present 8 Baron who is m with 3 sons and two daus) and a dau.
