+ Joyce Norcliffe Howard-Vyse (1904-2005)

Miss Joyce Norcliffe Howard-Vyse, born 26 August, 1904, only daughter
of Lieutenant-Colonel Cecil Howard-Vyse, late R.G.A. (1872-1935), of
Langton Hall, Malton, Yorkshire (who held the Serbian Order of the
White Eagle), by his wife, the former Ethel Maud Elsmie (d. 1946) only
child of Maj Frederick Elsmie Hast, died at her home 9 April, 2005, in
her 101st year.

Joyce (known as Joy) was a sister of the late Lt-Gen Sir Edward Dacre
Howard-Vyse, KBE, CB, MC (1905-92), and is descended from one Richard
Vyse who, in 1780, married Anne Howard, descended from a younger
brother of the 5th Baron Howard of Effingham, &c.
