From the Telegraph and Times of 17 December 2010:

Mr E.P.N. Phillips and Miss M.F.E. Wilson
The engagement is announced between Edward, only son of the late Mr
Nicholas Phillips and of Mrs Nicholas Phillips, of Luton Hoo,
Bedfordshire, and Marina, only daughter of Mr John Wilson, of Marford,
North Wales, and Mrs Penelope Wilson, of London.

Edward Paul Nicholas (b 1981) is the son of Nicholas Harold PHILLIPS
(1947-91) and Maria Lucia (b 1941 dau of Count Paul Czernin von und zu
Chudenitz, of Austria). The late Nicholas was the son of Lt-Col Harold
Pedro Joseph PHILLIPS (1909-80, of that gentry family formerly of
Sunningdale and Royston), who was first husband of Georgina (b 1919,
later Lady Kennard), who is the dau of Sir Harold Augustus WERNHER
GCVO TD (1893-1973) 3rd & last Bt and Lady Zia (1892-1977, see link
below)

It would be impertinent to 'go on' further about the connections of
this family at any length (eg royal associations, double duchesses,
Pushkin, etc), which will be well-known to many, not least from
postings by this group. I'd refer you to the posting of Sir David
Henry Butter's death in June, where the Wernher family's connections
are discussed in extenso:

The Count Paul Czernin von und zu Chudenitz connection is
interesting. The Countess Maria is descended (amongst others) from the
Princes zu Ysenburg und Büdingen, Princes von Hanau und Horowitz and
Imperial Princes of von Hessen-Kassel and ultimately to Frederick
William II of Prussia.

For those who are interested; 'von' means 'of' or 'from' a place, and
'zu/zum' means that the family owns that particular fief; so 'von and
zu' means that the Czernins not only came from Chudenice/Chudenitz
(now in the Czech Republic), but owned it as well.

Hi Isabelle.

Richard's first post was 15 years ago.  Now, there's no obvious connection to a current family in DPB Online.

They're also  not  shown on thepeerage.com website.  (It only has the parents' marriage).

The information about the boys' births was revealed in tweets (as they then were) by their parents.  You may be able to find their names from a search of their social media accounts if they are publicly available

Unfortunately, there are rather a lot of births where the child's surname is Phillips and the mother's maiden name is Wilson, making it impossible to definitively identify a child of a particular couple [with these names] by looking at the GRO index.

The only Phillips births I can find which were registered in Luton from 2011 to 2023 where the mother's maiden surname was Wilson are these two:

William Nicholas A PHILLIPS - Q2 2014 and
Alec Hugh W PHILLIPS - Q4 2020.

Although these might sound like the "right" sort of names for the sons of a landed gentry couple to have (and the older boy has Nicholas as his second name), note that the younger birth was in 2020, rather than in 2016 as on Hein Bruins' page. It is also of course the case that I have only checked one registration district, and the births we are looking for may have been registered elsewhere.

The mother's ancestry does not seem to have been touched on by this group until now. Her name in full is Marina Frances Elizabeth PHILLIPS, and her parents are John Christopher Henniker WILSON (born c.1947/8) and his [former?] wife (married 1974), (Diana) Penelope MUMFORD (born 1947).

Mrs Phillips' mother is the daughter of Arundel Keith MUMFORD (18 XII 1899 - 1972) and his wife (married 1935), Julia Phyllis Muriel CATT (6 I 1912 - 8 XII 1989), who was herself the daughter of Charles Bernard CATT (21 III 1882 - 14 XII 1915) and his wife (married 3 VII 1906), Catherine Frances Muriel ST JOHN (14 VII 1882 - 4 III 1962), a 3 x greats-granddaughter of the 11th Baron St John of Bletso.

Charles Bernard Catt was a brother of Constance Gwendoline Mary CATT (1880 - 17 III 1962), the wife (married 27 V 1906) of Vyvyan George HARMSWORTH (16 IV 1881 - 14 VII 1957), whose five eldest brothers were the 1st and last Viscount Northcliffe, the 1st Viscount Rothermere, the 1st Baron Harmsworth, Sir (Robert) Leicester HARMSWORTH, 1st Bt (1 XI 1870 -19 I 1937) and Sir Hildebrand Aubrey HARMSWORTH, 1st Bt (15 III 1872 - 18 IV 1929).
