Hepburne Scott/White engagement

The engagement was announced 16 Oct 2008, between Walter R Hepburne
Scott, scion of the Lords Polwarth (?), elder son of Mr and Mrs James
Hepburne Scott, of Lauder, Berwickshire, and Tatum A. White, elder
daughter of Mr Ian White and the late Mrs Maria Pia White, of Holland
Park, London.

I can see a James Hepburne Scott (b 1947), himself the son of a Walter
Schomberg Hepburne Scott, listed in Debrett, but no issue of James is
given (1995).

He's the son of another James born in 1947.
The uncle & brother-in-law of the present (11th) Lord is Maj the Hon
Francis Michael Hepburne Scott MC born 1920, he married 1946 Marjorie
Hamilton dau of Horatio John Ross (son-in-law of Sir Christopher
Lighton 7th Bt) and had James Patrick Hepburne Scott (born 1947) who
married 1972 Christian Diana younger dau of Maj John Freville Henry
Surtees OBE MC (and sister of the wife of the present 11th Lord) and
it's their son Walter Robert Hepburne Scott born 1974 who has become
engaged to Tatum A White. The Surtees are in BLG as formerly of
Redworth.
The latest Debrett (2008) still has the other James you mention as
unmarried and living in Edinburgh.
