HOOD, John Francis Alexander (Sandy)

Sandy passed unexpectedly at St. Paul's Hospital, in his 86th year. Predeceased by his wife Barb, he will be missed by his daughters Val (Paul) and Christy (Mark), along with his grandchildren; Rowan (Jan), Solveig, Anna, and Sarah. Sandy was born in Victoria, raised his family in Ladner, and retired to Sechelt. His career in banking spanned nearly 40 years. Sandy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; gardening, music, reading, the cocktail hour, his dogs, and most of all, his family and friends. By request, there will be no service. [...]

He was son of Francis Basil HOOD (1905 - 1986), male line g-s of 4th Viscount HOOD, and Catherine Anna McBRIDE, dau of Hon Sir Richard McBRIDE KCMG KC.   He m 1963 Barbara Anna TURNER and with her had two daus as above.  None of the grandchildren are detaield on Debrett's database at the time of writing.

HOOD, Barbara Anne (Turner) On March 6th, 2012 at home in Sechelt, Barb passed away after a long struggle with leukemia and emphysema. She will be sadly missed by husband Sandy, daughters Val (Paul) and Christy (Mark), grandchildren Rowan, Solveig, Anna and Sarah, sister Margaret, brothers Del, Brian, and Wayne. Barb was predeceased by her parents Cyril and Alice and brother Doug. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Mary's Hospital. A huge thank-you to the St. Mary's staff and the palliative home care team. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 17th, 2012 from 1:00 3:00pm in the Clubhouse at 16233 82 Avenue, Surrey. 650829.."
