In loving memory of John Murray, who died peacefully surrounded by his daughters on 5 September, 2023.
'Splendid' father of Cat, Bridget, Vanessa and Kirsten; much loved grandfather of Ruaraidh, Hugo, Ciaran, Hamish, Reggie and Archie; and husband to Geraldine and Kate.
He will be missed for his gentleness, unerring curiosity, ridiculous puns, love of steam trains and his TA14 Alvis, and for his quiet eccentricity that helped produce four strong, independent women.
A private service and celebration is being held in remembrance.

He was the son of Reginald Herbert Earn MURRAY (1893 - 1980), scion of the DUNMORE earls (descended from the 2nd son of the 4th earl), and Nina Clarendon SEAGER, and m 1stly 1962 (diss 1994) Geraldine Marjorie FANNING; m 2ndly 2006 Katherine (Kate) Mary Constance HORROCKS; and had issue by his 1st m - 4 dau as above. 2 grandsons are unknown to Debrett's database.
