From the Telegraph of 28 Dec 2024: McEWEN Brigid, Lady McEwen (née Laver) of Polwarth. Peacefully at home on 23rd December 2024, aged 90 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Robin, loving mother, grandmother and friend. Burial private. A Requiem Mass will be held at Duns Parish Church on Wednesday 8th January at 1 p.m. to which all friends are respectfully invited. No flowers please.

She was the only d of Lt James LAVER CBE 1899-1975 and Bridget Veronica 1899-1971 d of Martin TURLEY of Bray, Ireland. She m 1954 Sir Robert (Robin) Lindley McEWEN 3^rd Bt 1926-80 s of Sir John Helias Finnie McEWEN 1st Bt 1894-1962 and Bridget Mary d 1971 eldest dau of Rt Hon Sir Francis Oswald LINDLEY GCMG CB CBE 1872-1950 (s of the Law Lord Baron LINDLEY 1828-1921 and Sarah Katherine TEALE 1831-1912) and Hon Etheldreda Mary FRASER 1872-1949 d of 13th Lord LOVAT 1828-87, and had two sons (the 4^th Bt and present 5^th Bt) and four daus.
