He was s of Capt Colin Colenso MARTELL 1909-85 and Laline Marguerite Lucie 1917-74 d of Hugh Wilson WALTON-WILSON 1869-1921 and Laline Isolda 1877-1965 d of Sir Charles William Frederick CRAUFURD 4 Bt 1847-1939 and Hon Isolda Caroline VEREKER 1852-1927 d of 4 Viscount GORT 1819-1900 and Hon Caroline Harriet GAGE 1823-88 d of 4 Viscount GAGE 1791-1877 and Elizabeth Maria 1793-1857 d of Hon Edward FOLEY 1747-1808 (s of 1 Baron FOLEY 1716-77, etc) and Anna Maria HODGETTS d 1805. He m first Clare A b 8 Oct 1947 (Khartoum) d of George LILLYWHITE (ICI area manager) and Maureen DAVIES, and had two daus. He m second Shelagh STEPHENSON b 1952 and had a son.
