Mr T. Green and Miss T. Mertens

The engagement is announced between Toby, eldest son of Mr James Green, of London, and the Hon Mrs Claerwen Green, of Norton, Wiltshire, and Tanya, eldest daughter of Mr Steve Mertens, of Limoux, France, and Mrs Sarah Brown, of Little Weighton, Yorkshire.

Toby James Ralph GREEN (b 1982) is the eldest son of (John) James Randall GREEN (b 1953) by his m 1980 (her 2nd m) to Hon. Claerwen GIBSON-WATT (b 1952)

(John) James Randall GREEN is the only son of John Richard Daniel GREEN (1926 - 2015) and Hon. Jane Beatrix Randal Smith (b 1928), younger dau of 2nd Baron BICESTER (1898 - 1968), and Hon. Dorothea Gwenllian James (1897 - 1974), eldest dau of 3rd Baron NORTHBOURNE (1869 - 1932). Through his mother's family he has a vast array of aristocratic connections, including to the ANTRIM earls, the GREY earls, the FARQUHAR baronets, the PONSONBY barons, etc. etc.

Hon. Claerwen GIBSON-WATT firstly married Enrique ULVERT (m 1970, div 1979), and is the elder dau of Baron GIBSON WATT (1918 - 2002, LP cr 1979) and Diana HAMBRO (b 1922), a scion of the RIDLEY baronets, the DUNMORE earls, the LEICESTER earls, the HAMILTON dukes, etc. etc.
