HENE [Henn, Henne], of Winkfield [Wingfeild] (1642)
1.1.1.Sir Richard, 4th Bt. (ca 1675-ca 1715?); m.by 1702 Anne N; will of Dame Ann Hene pr 1716, with the only relative named being a dau Penelope; as for his date of death, Cokayne surmised that it must have been ca 1710; however, his daughter Alice seems to have been born ca 1714/6; he apparently predeceased his wife, whose will was proven 1716 as said above
1.1.1.1.Ann (bap 17 Feb 1703- )
1.1.1.2.Arabella (bap 8 Apr 1708- ); Arabella and Ann’s baptisms mentioned in footnote in Cokayne but must have d.young because not mentioned elsewhere; their next two sisters’ baptisms not noted by Cokayne
1.1.1.3.Penelope, born presumably ca 1711 based on her administration of her mother’s estate being granted in 1732
1.1.1.4.Alice, d.30 Jun 1752, in her 37th year; m.12 Apr 1733 Rev. James Dewhurst; “Transactions of the Shropshire Archaeological and Natural History”, Vol 4, pp 332-3, has a monumental inscription for “Mrs Dewhurst” giving this date, age and parentage; note that Burke’s Extinct Baronetcies has her, and another girl, Penelope, as daus of the 2nd Bt, but then says they were sisters and co-heirs of their brother, Richard
1.2.Corbet, d.Sep 1693; m. “Dame Mary Beckford”, a widow; he is mentioned in a footnote in Cokayne, and confirmed by his Will records; not mentioned in Burke’s
1.3.Anne
1.4.Alice
1.5.Muriel
1.6.Arabella [in the will of her brother Corbett this 4th dau is called Latitia, but this might actually be an additional daughter; the first 4 are named in the 1665 Visitation of Berkshire]
2.Mary, d.young
3.Dorothy, d.young
NOTES: there seems much confusion about this family. The genealogy above, except for Penelope and Alice, comes from Cokayne and some additional sources; however, Burke’s Extinct Baronetcies omits the 3rd Bt. entirely and makes Sir Richard son of the 2nd Bt.; Burke’s makes Penelope and Alice, Richard’s daughters, instead his sisters
Magna Britannia, Vol I Part II, Berkshire, confirms that Sir Richard was great-grandson of the 1st Bt. (noted because Burke’s misses a generation) and that he was survived by daus Penelope, spinster, and Alice, wife of James Dewhurst
