Capt (Geoffrey) Mark Victor Winn (1918-2008)

Capt (Geoffrey) Mark Victor Winn, who died 20 October, 2008, aged 90,
was a scion of the Barons St Oswald (Peerage UK, cr 1885); born 1918,
son of the Hon Cecil Henry Winn (1866-1934), by his wife the former
Alice Marjorie Alice Darley (d 1964), dau of Henry Darley, of Aldby
Park, Buttercrambe, York; served as Capt, RE 1940-45 in NW Europe and
SE Asia; married 1958, Alice Alexandra (d 1991), dau of Peter Haig-
Thomas, and descended from the Earls of Normanton; and leaves issue:
- (i) (Geoffrey) George Winn-Darley, b 1966, who assumed in 1985 by
Royal Licence the additional surname of Darley before that of Winn;
(i) Alice Rosemary b 1960; and (iii) Iris Alexandra, b 1964. Funeral
Service at Bossall Church on Monday 27 October, 2008, followed by
interment at Buttercrambe.
