Some information about the Berney-Ficklin family, though I don't know his exact connection to the people mentioned therein.

Per Burke's Family Index, Ficklin of Tasburgh last appeared in Burke's Landed Gentry in the 1937 edition.

John Berney-Ficklin is mentioned in the article (the link to which Paul has posted) from the Tasburgh History Group website, as the son of Capt Alexander ("Alex") Berney-Ficklin, OBE and his wife, Rachel.

To give them their full names, Mr Berney-Ficklin's parents were Capt Alexander Tennant Mackintosh BERNEY-FICKLIN, MC (10 V 1895 - 31 VIII 1964) and his wife (married 31 III 1921), Rachel JOLLY (12 VIII 1897 - ?), the elder daughter of Russell JOLLY (29 VIII 1863 - 23 V 1947) and his wife (married 27 VI 1893), Dorothy KENRICK (28 VI 1871 - 13 XI 1933).

Russell Jolly's father was Ald William Cracknell JOLLY, JP (1826 - 22 I 1904), Mayor of Bath, 1894-5, and his grandfather was Ald Thomas JOLLY, JP, Mayor of Bath, 1860-1 and 1868-9.

Dorothy Kenrick was the third daughter of John Arthur KENRICK (1829 - 23 IV 1926), who was the eldest brother of Harriet KENRICK (5 XI 1835 - 22 X 1863), the first wife (married 30 VII 1861) of the Rt Hon Joseph CHAMBERLAIN (8 VII 1836 - 2 VII 1914), by whom she was the mother of the Rt Hon Sir (Joseph) Austen CHAMBERLAIN, KG (16 X 1863 - 16 III 1937), Leader of the Conservative Party 1921-22.

The Rt Hon Joseph Chamberlain's second wife (married 8 VI 1868), by whom he was the father of the Rt Hon (Arthur) Neville CHAMBERLAIN (18 III 1869 - 9 XI 1940), Prime Minister, 1937-40, was Florence KENRICK (19 VIII 1847 - 14 II 1875), who was a first cousin of John Arthur Kenrick and his sister Harriet.

The late Mr Berney-Ficklin was therefore a first cousin twice removed downwards of Sir Austen Chamberlain and a second cousin twice removed downwards of Neville Chamberlain.
