From the Telegraph of 28 Oct 2021: MURPHY Mary (née Riddell) died peacefully at home on 22nd October, aged 79. Beloved wife of Richard, dearly loved mother of Dick, Alice, John, Hugh and Charlie and devoted Granny Mary to eight. Private family funeral at Swinburne.
She was d of John Cuthbert Widdrington RIDDELL OBE 1910-94 sometime head of that gentry family of Felton & Swinburne and Maureen Helen 1910-92 d of George Leary Joseph TAAFFE 1866-1923 scion of that Irish gentry family (and scion of the extinct TAAFFE viscounts, which title was removed from the Roll of Peers under the (WWI period) Titles Deprivation Act) and Alice Catherine Trevor GRIFFITH-BOSCAWEN 1870-1963 scion of that gentry family (now JONES) of Godmond Hall. She m 1970 reg Q4 North. (not 1969 as in BLG1972 p765) Capt Richard Patrick b 1941 reg Q4 Lincs s of Maj-Gen Richard MURPHY CB CBE 1896-1971 and Florence Helen TYNDALL 1910-97, and had four sons and a dau as above.
