It would appear that the late Mr Tate's wife was the Sarah ROSE, mother's maiden name Beveridge, whose birth was registered in Deben in Q1 1937. It also appears that she was the elder daughter of Lt-Col Angus John Campbell ROSE by his first wife (marriage registered in 1933 in St Giles, ref 685 / 4 / 1116), Alison Margaret Logan BEVERIDGE (c.1908 - 20 VI 1960), whose second marriage to Robert James STEPHEN was registered in York in Q2 1947.

The younger daughter of Lt-Col Angus Rose and his first wife is Mrs John Newman, née Caroline Henrietta ROSE (born 31 X 1941), who was the wife (married 17 IV 1963) of John Francis NEWMAN (25 I 1930 - 11 V 2016), the youngest son of Sir Cecil Gustavus Jacques NEWMAN, 2nd Bt (9 VI 1891 - 21 V 1955). The Newmans' elder daughter, Henrietta Mary Alison NEWMAN (born 23 I 1964), was the second wife (married 19 XII 1989, divorced 2000) of the 7th Earl of Caledon, KCVO.

Lt-Col Angus Rose was the second son of Brig-Gen John Latham ROSE, CIE (24 IV 1867 - 30 X 1931) and his wife, Constance Janet CAMPBELL (18 XI 1882 - 27 VIII 1969), of that landed gentry family, of Dunstaffnage. His younger brother, Lt-Col David McNeil Campbell ROSE, DSO (c.1912 - 24 X 2010), was the husband (married 28 IV 1945) of Lady Jean Maule RAMSAY (16 IV 1909 - 16 I 1997), daughter of the 14th Earl of Dalhousie.
