The engagement was announced 9 Jan 2009, between Charles A. Potter,
younger son of the Rt Hon Sir Mark Howard Potter, Knt, PC (Lord
Justice Potter) (b 1937) and Lady Potter (nee Undine Amanda Fay
Miller), & Petra Rose M. Teacher (b 1980), scion of the eponymous
whisky family.
Petra is one of the four children of the late (Anthony) James Moreton
Teacher (1937-2003), & is a
great-great-great-granddaughter of William Teacher, who founded the
world famous Teacher's whisky brand. Petra is a granddaughter of
Brigadier Anthony Donald Macdonald Teacher, CBE, DL, who died in 1969,
by his wife, the former Awdry Clarise Macnaghten, of the Macnaghten
Baronets.
Petra's mother is (Rosemary) Chloe, daughter of Major Sir Henry Joseph
d'Avigdor-Goldsmid, 2nd Baronet, DSO, MC, TD. She was High Sheriff of
Kent, 1994/5.
