Adored husband of Henrietta for 67 years and much loved father of Philip, Milly, Letty (deceased) and Nicky. Proud grandfather of Arthur, Evie, Dairy, Tilly, Jack, Tom, Ned, Cosmo, Barney, Reggie [Jude Millais not listed – see below] and great grandfather of Clementine. Private family funeral….

He was s of Philip Russell Rendel DUNNE MC MP 1904-65 (who he succ. as) head of that gentry family of Gatley Park (gs of 1^st Baron RENDEL 1834-1913) and his 1^st w (her 1^st h) Margaret Ann 1908-2000 (Mrs Willis) d of Thomas Hood WALKER of Crosbie Tower, Troon, Ayrshire. He m 1957 Henrietta Rose b 1937 d of Maj Cosmo Stafford CRAWLEY 1904-89 (gs of Antony GIBBS 1841-1907 who was f of 1^st Baron WRAXALL 1873-1931, as well 2xgt gs of Sir Thomas CRAWLEY-BOEVEY 3^rd Bt 1769-1847) and Rosemary 1907-99 d of Sydney Richardson CHRISTIE-MILLER 1874-1931 sometime head of that gentry family of Clarendon Park and Evelyn Nora VANDELEUR 1877-1966 scion of that Irish gentry family, as well gt gd of 2^nd Earl of NORBURY 1781-1839, 2xgt gd of The Baroness NORWOOD OF KNOCKALTON d 1822, 2xgt gd of 1^st Marquess of DROGHEDA 1730-1832, 3xgt gd of 1^st Marquess of HERTFORD 1718-94 (by his w a gt gd of King CHARLES II), etc etc), and had two sons and two daus:

Sir Thomas was Lord Lieutenant of Hereford and Worcester from 1977 until its abolition in 1998. He continued as both Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire and Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, giving up the latter in 2001 and retiring from the Herefordshire lieutenancy at the usual age of 75 in 2008.

The Queen, also representing The King, was present at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir Thomas Dunne (formerly Her late Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire) which was held in Hereford Cathedral this afternoon.

The Princess Royal was represented by Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Mr Edward Harley.

The Duke of Kent was represented by Mr Nicholas Turnbull.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy, was represented by Miss Marina Ogilvy.
