From the Times of 10 March 2026: SACKVILLE-WEST Bridget (née Cunliffe) died peacefully at home on 4th March 2026, aged 98. Beloved wife of the late Hugh, and mother of Robert, Mary, Elizabeth, Jane and William.

She was d of Capt Robert Lionel Brooke CUNLIFFE 1895-1990 (gt gs of Sir Foster CUNLIFFE 3 Bt 1755-1834) and Barbara Eleanor 1900-70 d of Col Harry Ernest COOPER CMG CBE 1847-1928 of Pakenham, Suffolk by his 1894 m reg Q3 Surrey to Emily Charlotte Ernestine 1864-1953 d of Capt Henry CALDWELL CB 1815-68 scion of that Irish gentry family of New Grange and Mary Eleanor BULWER 1833-1926 (gd of Gen William Earle BULWER who was f of 1 & only Baron DALLING & BULWER 1801-72 and 1 Baron LYTTON 1803-73 who was f of 1 Earl of LYTTON 1831-91). 

She m 1957 Hugh Rosslyn Inigo 1919-2001 s of Hon Bertrand George SACKVILLE-WEST 1872-1959 (gs of 5 Earl DE LA WARR 1791-1869) and Eva Adela Mabel Inigo 1883-1936 d of Maj-Gen Inigo Richmund JONES 1848-1914 and Elinor Margaret 1859-1940 d of Lt-Col Hon Richard CHARTERIS 1822-74 (s of 9 Earl of WEMYSS 1795-1883, gs of 2 Earl of LUCAN 1764-1839, gt gs of 2 Earl of FAUCONBERG 1743-1802, etc) and Lady Margaret BUTLER 1834-1915 d of 2 Earl of GLENGALL 1794-1858, and had two sons and three daus. 

Her elder son is the present 7 Baron SACKVILLE b 1958 who is married with an heir and two daus.

The mother of Eva Adela Mabel Inigo Sackville-West née Jones was Alice Matilda née Dawson (died 1885) the first wife (married 1878) of Major-General Inigo Richmund Jones.

They married 14 Jan 1878 at St George’s, Hanover Sq.
