Wonderful brother to Giles and Lavinia, much loved father of Henry, William, Tom, Alexander, Christopher and Ella and proud grandfather to eleven. He was s of Capt John PITMAN 1907-ka1943 (gs of Sir Isaac PITMAN 1813-97 of the eponymous shorthand system, and sometime head) of that gentry family of Eastcourt House and Elizabeth Cattanach 1908-97 d of William Cattanach DONALDSON of Bourtree Hill, Ayrshire. He m 1961 Rosemary Alice 1940-2010 d of Robert Joicey DICKINSON 1901-81 sometime head of that gentry family of Stocksfield and Alice Penelope 1907-85 d of Maj William BARNETT 1868-1912 scion of that gentry family f/o Glympton and Laura Beatrice 1874-1967 d of Henry Nicholas MIDDLETON 1845-1928 (gs of Sir Charles Miles Lambert MONCK 6^th Bt 1779-1867, and bro of Sir Arthur Edward MIDDLETON 7^th Bt 1838-1933, as also gs of Sir Matthew White RIDLEY 3^rd Bt 1778-1836) and Sophia Elizabeth MEREDITH 1848-1927.
