Sad to hear about the death of Lord Tony Christopher.

An incredible career in public service, Tony was the oldest serving British parliamentarian and the last Member of Parliament to have served in World War II.

My thoughts and condolences are with his family.

Anthony Martin Grosvenor CHRISTOPHER was born 25 April 1925.  Date of death not yet clear.

He was the son of George Russell CHRISTOPHER and Helen Kathleen Milford ROWLEY. He m 1962 Adela Joy THOMPSON (1919 - 2024). No issue.

He was cr a life peer as Baron CHRISTOPHER in 1998, and sat until his removal for non-attendance in May 2026.

The oldest life peer is now Lord Rodgers of Quarry Bank b 28 Oct 1928

Lord Rodgers of Quarry Bank is definitely accumulating positions in the record books - he became senior Privy Counsellor (i.e. longest serviing) on the death of Lord Hattersley having been appointed in 1976, and very recently the oldest Privy Counsellor on the death of Lord Mackay of Clashfern, and now oldest life peer.

He was 101 when he died, and his wife passed away at 105.
