Elizabeth McGillycuddy
Elizabeth (Betty) The Madam, died peacefully on 15th January 2011,
Aged 100. Funeral and Cremation have taken place.
The Madam McGillycuddy of The Reeks (Elizabeth Margaret nee Otto
1910-2011)
She was the dau of Maj John Ellison OTTO of Astrop Grange, King's
Sutton, Banbury, Oxford. She m 1945 Maj John Patrick McGillycuddy, The
McGillycuddy of the Reeks (1909-59) son of the previous McGillycuddy
of The Reeks, Lt-Col Ross Kinloch McGillycuddy DSO (1882-1950), and
Helen Grace (d 1955) dau of Edward COURAGE of that gentry family of
Shenfield Place. She had a son and a dau:
Richard Denis Wyer McGillycuddy, The McGillycuddy of The Reeks
(1948-2004) m Virginia Lucy (Virginia, Madam McGillycuddy, b 1951) dau
of the Hon Hugh Waldorf ASTOR (1920-99) son of the 1st Baron ASTOR OF
HEVER, and Emily Lucy (b , dau of Sir Alexander Davenport Kinloch 12th
Bt) and had two daus (Tara Virginia b 1985 and Sorcha Alexandra b
1990).
Sarah Elizabeth McGILLYCUDDY (b 1946).
Richard McGillycuddy was succ as The McGillycuddy of The Reeks by his
1st cousin Dermot Patrick Donogh McGillycuddy (b 1939), who m 1964
Wendy O'Connor dau of George SPENCER of Winwick Manor, Rugby,
Warwicks, and had three sons and and twin daus, the eldest of the
sons, Piers Donough Edward George (b 1965) is the heir apparent.
