From the Telegraph of 22 Feb 2023: Fiona (née Myddelton) CVO, widow of Sir Alastair Aird, GCVO died on 11th February 2023 peacefully at Amesbury Abbey Nursing Home aged 88. She will be much missed by her two daughters, Caroline and Henrietta, and her four grandchildren. There will be a private cremation followed by a Service of Thanksgiving on 20th March at 2.30 p.m. at St Gregory’s Church, Marnhull. No flowers please but donations if desired to Attend, previously known as The Hospital League of Friends, c/o Bracher Brothers, Newbury, Gillingham…

She was d of Lt-Col Ririd MYDDELTON MVO 1902-88 sometime head of that gentry family of Chirk Castle and Lady Mary Margaret Elizabeth PETTY-FITZMAURICE 1910-2003 (gd of 5th Marquess of LANSDOWNE 1845-1927 and of 4th Earl of MINTO 1845-1914 etc etc). She m 1963 Sir Alastair Stugis GCVO 1931-2009 s of Malcolm Henry AIRD 1899-1965 (gs of Sir John AIRD 1st Bt 1833-1911) and Joan Meredith STURGIS 1895-1986, and had two daus as above.

The King was represented by the Hon. Dame Annabel Whitehead (former Lady-in-Waiting to The late Queen) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Lady Aird (former Lady-in-Waiting to The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon) which was held in St. Gregory's Parish Church, Marnhull, Sturminster Newton, Dorset, this afternoon.
