The engagement was announced 10 Dec 2008, between Neil Malcolm Ross
Forbes (b 10 Mar 1970), eldest son of The Hon Malcolm Nigel Forbes,
The Master of Forbes (b 6 May 1946), of Castle Forbes, Aberdeenshire,
and Mrs Dennis Harding, of Gullane, East Lothian (nee Carole
Whitehead), and Maria Martell, eldest daughter of Mr Andrew Martell,
Shotley Hall, Co. Durham, and Mrs Clare Thorn, of Mistley, Essex.
Neil Forbes is the grandson of the 22nd Lord Forbes, KBE (b 19 Feb
1918), Premier Lord of Scotland.
