Captain Vaughan Adrian Philipps Stokes was of that family, of St Botolphs, which, per Burke's Family Index, last appeared in Burke's Landed Gentry (LG) in the 1937 edition. His mother, née Emma Ellen PHILIPPS (1850 -1916), was of that LG family, of Cwmgwilie.
