From the Times of 31 March 2026: TISDALL Virginia Lesley (née Tanner) died peacefully on 17th March 2026, aged 87. Widow of John and mother to Tora, Mark and Jim. Much-loved grandmother to Sophie, Charlie, Chase and Amanda. Funeral at midday on 20th April at All Saints’ Church, Crondall. No flowers, donations to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

She was d of Thomas TANNER and Mrs Roderick M Jones of Newark, Ohio, USA. She m first Basil THOMAS. She m second 1971 Lt-Cdr John Michael RNVR 1936-93 s of John Denis TISDALL 1889-1947 scion of that Irish gentry family and his 2 w Doris May d of Henry Bedford HEMMONS of Twickenham, Middx, and had a son James (Jim) Denis TISDALL b 1973.
