From the Telegraph of 27 April 2024: Mr E.M.W. Vincent and Miss R.C. Corbett -   The engagement is announced between Edward, eldest son of Sir William and Lady Vincent, of Hambledon, Hampshire, and Rebecca, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Charlie Corbett, of Cheriton, Hampshire.

Edward Mark William b 6 March 1978 eldest s&ha of Sir William Percy Maxwell VINCENT 3^rd Bt b 1945 and Christne Margaret b 1945 reg Q4 Herefs&Worcs d of Rev Edward Gibson WALTON 1909-89 by his 1939 m reg Q3 London to Kathleen F M WILLIAMS. He m 1^st 2010 Trina Lee d of Ernest FRIESEN of Vancouver, Canada and had two sons (Oscar John Edward b 13 Oct 2014 & Wilfred Alexander Thomas b 2017) and a dau (Alice Elizabeth Helen b 2012).

The prospective bride, Rebecca Clare ("Becca") CORBETT (born I 1983) is a member of that landed gentry (LG) family, of Shobdon Court. She is the elder daughter of Richard Arthur Charles ("Charlie") CORBETT (born 3 IV 1956) and his wife (married 1977), Susan Elizabeth ("Susie") OBBARD (born 22 IX 1956), of that LG family.

 

Mrs Susie Corbett is the daughter of Lt-Col Guy William Naismith OBBARD, MBE (11 X 1928 - 28 XI 2021) and his first wife (married 1952, as her first husband), Marion Alison TWEEDIE (born 15 I 1930), of that family, which, per Burke's Family Index, last appeared in Burke's LG in the 1952 edition.

 

Charlie Corbett is the son of Richard Hugh CORBETT (4 X 1920 - 16 XII 1974) and his wife (married 1951, as her third husband), Nadeen Harding Whitford DRING (1919 - 9 VII 2007), daughter of Capt Murray Whitford DRING, MC (1886 - 1932) and his wife (married 1915, as her first husband), Margaret Harriet HARDING.

 

Mrs Nadeen Corbett's first marriage (registered Q4 1939 - Knaresborough) was to (as his first wife) Alastair George Anthony KISSACK, MBE (1917 - c.2008), a great-grandson of Sir William KEITH-MURRAY of Ochtertyre, 7th Bt (19 VII 1801 - 16 X 1861). Her second marriage (registered Q1 1947 - Kensington) was to Antony WITHERBY.

 

Mr and Mrs Richard Hugh Corbett also had a daughter, Lucinda Mary CORBETT (born 2 III 1954), who is the wife (married 3 VII 1976) of the Hon John Charles Gregory CAVENDISH (born 23 XI 1952), the younger son of the 5th Baron Chesham.

 

Richard Hugh Corbett was the youngest son of the Rev Lionel Edward Corbett (14 XI 1873 - 8 XII 1946) and his wife (married 16 XI 1904), Dorothy Garton GARTON (1884 - 12 XII 1967), of that LG family, the elder daughter of Sir Richard Charles GARTON, GBE (8 X 1857 - 22 IV 1934), High Sheriff of Surrey 1913, Chairman of Watney, Combe, Reid & Co, brewers, 1928-32. The Rev Lionel Edward Corbett was himself the eldest son of the Rev Lionel CORBETT (5 V 1833 - 21 VI 1905) and his second wife (married 25 X 1871), Caroline Mary COCHRANE (26 IX 1845 - 28 IV 1915), a great-granddaughter of the 9th Earl of Dundonald.

 

Rachel Corbett's younger sister, née Louise Violet CORBETT (birth registered March 1985 - Winchester), is the wife of James Mark Ziani DE FERRANTI (born XII 1982), who is the son of Mark Ziani DE FERRANTI (born 9 IX 1945) and his wife (married 1978), Sandra BUCHANAN, and the brother of Daisy Sandy Ziani DE FERRANTI (born 1979), who is now Lady Huntingtower, having married the son and heir of the 13th Earl of Dysart in 2009.

 

Mark de Ferranti is the younger son of Denis Sebastian Pietro Ziani DE FERRANTI (28 V 1908 - 16 X 1992) and his second wife (married c.1935), Germaine de Courcy ("Bobby") MOORE (28 XI 1914 - 26 V 2010), daughter of Sir Harold John de Courcy MOORE (8 VI 1877 - 6 XII 1976), Sheriff of London, 1921-22, Alderman for the Ward of Walbrook, and his first wife (married 1906, divorced 1923), Jeanne Germaine GOKEL (c.1883/4 - 27 III 1935).

Rebecca is a farming entrepreneur, responsible for running diversified businesses on her family's farm. She is engaged to Edward Vincent, whom she will marry in Lochbuie, Isle of Mull, in August, and the daughter of Charlie and Susie Corbett of Cheriton, Hampshire. Rebecca follows in the footsteps of her sister, Louise de Ferranti (nee Corbett), who appeared on the Frontispiece on March 14 2012.
