From the Telegraph of 23 July 2024: GILROY Angus Hugh died on 10th July 2024, aged 87. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth, father of Fergus and Margaret, and grandfather of Harry, Lara, Wilfred and Rose. Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Thursday 5th September at St Mary's Church, Billingshurst. No flowers please.

He was s of Donald Duff GILROY 1900-1960 by his 1923 m ref 465/A/107 Clackmannan to Margaret Campbell FORRESTER 1898-1996. He m 1967 Elizabeth 1940-2022 d of Col Richard Lumley HURST 1904-62 and Lady Barbara LINDSAY 1915-2001 d of 27th Earl of CRAWFORD & [10th of] BALCARRES 1871-1940 and Constance Lilian PELLY 1874-1947 (d of Sir Henry Carstairs PELLY 3rd Bt 1844-77 and gd of 10th Earl of WEMYSS & [7th of] MARCH 1818-1914 etc etc), and had a son (Fergus Hugh b 1969: m 20_ & had issue Wilfred Angus b 2014 reg Q2 Ken&Chelsea, Rose Elizabeth b 2016 reg Q4 Ken&Chelsea) and a dau (Margaret Cecilia b 1970: m 11 Sep 1999 (Times 18 Sep) Jeremy S b 1960 reg Q2 Portsmouth s of Michael Kenneth MEAD 1928-97 by his 1954 m reg Q3 Bucks to Nancy B F OATLEY b 1931 and had issue, Harry Michael Jeremy b 7 April 2001 (Times 12 April), Lara Rose Elizabeth b 23 Aug 2003 (Times 2 Sep)).
