The 2nd Viscount Rochdale 1938-2015

_. St John Durival Kemp, 2nd Viscount Rochdale (Peerage of the UK, cr 1960), died 27 February, 2015, aged 77. His death came just a couple of days after the death of his younger son, the Hon Christopher Kemp.

He was born 15 Jan 1938, son of the 1st Viscount (1906-93), by his wife the former Elinor Dorothea Pease; married 1stly, 1960 (div 1974) Serena Jane Clark-Hall; married 2ndly, 1976, Elizabeth Boldon. There were two sons & two daughters of the first marriage. The elder son, the Hon Jonathan Hugo Durival Kemp, who was born 10 June, 1961, succeeds as 3rd Viscount Rochdale.

Viscountcy of Rochdale and Barony of Rochdale in the Peerage of the United Kingdom The Lord Chancellor reported that Jonathan Hugo Durival Kemp had established his claim to the Viscountcy of Rochdale and the Barony of Rochdale in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. The Clerk of the Parliaments was accordingly directed to enter Viscount Rochdale on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 9(4).
