Richard, looks like you were right.

The Gainsborough page on DB online DB lists him as deceased.

I know it's mentioned here in other posts, but what is this "DB Online"? Is it some kind of official record, or is it just someone else's website? I just want to guard against the possibility that, whatever it is, it got the information from this morning's post here.

I've been Googling away and cannot find any connection of an Eva Nares with a Thomas Noel, nor with a Bride Hall Holdings (where Hon. Thomas Noel was known to work), nor with Barnsdale Lodge, the old home (now B & B) where Hon. Thomas Noel has been the owner. And so far no mention of the death is on any site associated with Bride Hall or Barnsdale Lodge.

DB online is Debrett's Peerage and Baronetage Database: https://www.debretts1769.com/
It is variously referred as DB online (as it is an internet resource) or DB database. Colin usually refers to it as DPB database.

A good few of us are members and regularly check it, including providing updates.  Undoubtedly the editors of DB online use us as a source and update their pages based on our postings.  I hope that do a check of the veracity of our posts, especially where we express an amount of doubt as to whether we have the correct person.
