Luard/Sloane engagement

The engagement was announced in Aug 2007 between Mr P.J. Luard (of
Luard LG???), eldest son of Captain and the late Mrs James Luard, of
Stawley Wood, Somerset, and Miss A.D. (Minky) Sloane, second daughter
of the late Major Simon Sloane and of Mrs Simon Sloane, of Ash Priors,
Somerset.

There is a branch of the Luard family which has been seated at
Blyborough Hall, Blyborough, Lincs since the 18th cent. They seem
mainly to be a naval and military family, though one of Sir Peter
Pears' middle names was Luard.
