.........and the 3rd Earl of Carysfort (grandson). Col Proby seems to
have been very well connected. In addition to the peers mentioned
earlier, one doesn't have to go that far back to include the Viscount
Wicklow, 14th Earl of Morton and 1st Earl of Harewood.

On the Viscounts Plumer:

Her parents were Thomas Hall Rokeby Plumer, 2nd Viscount Plumer
(1890-1944) [himself the only son and youngest child of Field Marshal
Herbert Charles Onslow Plumer, 1st Viscount Plumer and Annie Constance
Goss] and his wife Anne Monica Georgiana Tempest-Hicks (d. 2 May
1963), daughter of Brig.-Gen. Henry Tempest-Hicks, CB. She was born
1929, thus her dates (29 January 1929 - 20 April 2010). Her elder
sister Hon. Anne Cynthia Veronica Tempest Plumer (b. 1921) married a
J. F. M. Leapman in 1952. No details on issue and whether either the
elder sister or her husband are still alive. I'm not sure of the
Tempest connection (to the Tempest LG family, that is).

and three daughters:

On the late Frederick Henry Lowry-Corry (23 December 1926 - 17
December 2006), of Edwardstone Hall, Boxford, Suffolk:
http://thepeerage.com/p13893.htm

Mr and Mrs Lowry-Corry had two sons, both married with issue. The
elder son (b. 1951) has two sons and two daughters while the younger
has a daughter, per this database. Five grandchildren.

The descent from the earls of Belmore to the late Frederick Henry

Armar Lowry-Corry, 3rd Earl of Belmore (1801-1845), ancestor of all
subsequent Earls, who married Emily Louise Shepherd, and had 4 sons,
of whom the youngest son:

Colonel Henry William Lowry-Corry (1845-1927) md Hon. Blanche Edith
Wood, dau of 1st Viscount Halifax and his wife Lady Mary Grey, dau of
the 2nd Earl Grey and his wife Hon. Mary Elizabeth Ponsonby [giving
his descendants a connection to many other families through the Woods
and the Greys and Ponsonbys].

Lt.-Col. Sir Henry Charles Lowry-Corry (1887-1973) md Betty Alice
Adeline Proby [as above]; issue 2 sons and 2 daus [yr
Edith Lowry-Corry (b. 1923) married the late Field Marshal Lord
Carver, a Wellesley descendant maternally IIRC.

Frederick Henry Lowry-Corry (23 December 1926 - 17 December 2006)
[late husband of the subject of this message]

The relationship between the present (8th) Earl Belmore and the late
Mr Lowry-Corry

3rd Earl -> [2nd son] Admiral Hon. Armar Lowry-Corry (1836-1919) w
issue 8 sons and 4 daus -> [5th but 3rd surv son] Major Adrian Lowry-
Corry (1876-1921) w issue 1 son and 1 dau (d 2002!) -> Galbraith
Armar, 7th Earl Belmore (1913-1960) w issue 1 son and 2 daus -> John,
8th Earl Belmore (b. 1951) md to Lady Mary Jane Meade, dau of the 6th
Earl Clanwilliam (dspm) and has issue 2 sons and 1 dau

3rd Earl -> [4th and yst son] Colonel Henry William Lowry-Corry
(1845-1927) -> Lt.-Col. Sir Henry Charles Lowry-Corry (1887-1973) ->
Frederick Henry Lowry-Corry (1926-2006)

Thus Mrs Lowry-Corry's late husband and the 7th Earl were second
cousins, and her children and the 8th Earl are third cousins. Both
sons are of course in remainder to the earldom, and fairly close to it
as well...the present Earl is father of two sons in their early
twenties and has no brother and no great-uncles etc.

Additional notes:
The 4th Earl (eldest son of the 3rd Earl) was father of the 5th and
6th Earls Belmore, both of whom died unmarried.
