From the Telegraph of 19 June 2024: Mr E.T.F. Fielder and Miss I.C. Hewitt - The engagement is announced between Edward, son of Mrs Fielder and the late Mr Nigel Fielder, of Bolney, West Sussex, and Isobel, daughter of Mr and Mrs Christopher Hewitt, of Harbridge, Hampshire.

Christopher Ralph Peter HEWITT is the elder son of Dennis Neil HEWITT (30 X 1918 - 1 VII 1978) and his wife (married 28 IX 1957), Daphne Ann Barrington CHANCE (born 1 XII 1935), of that landed gentry (LG) family, formerly of Great Alne, who is herself the youngest daughter of Maj Geoffrey Henry Barrington CHANCE, CBE (16 XII 1893 - 11 VII 1987), High Sheriff of Wiltshire in 1965, by his second wife (married 1933), Daphne Corona WALLACE (3 II 1902 - 6 II 1991).

 

Daphne Corona Wallace was the second daughter of Falconer Lewis WALLACE, OBE, DL, JP, 2nd of Candacraig (19 IX 1870 - 21 X 1944), head of that LG family, and his wife (married 25 IV 1900), Kathleen Annie ("Kitty") PAGET (10 IX 1874 - 22 XI 1942), a great-great-granddaughter of both the 1st Earl of Uxbridge (father of the 1st Marquess of Anglesey) and the 10th Earl of Westmorland.
