Apparently, Lord Fraser was a scion of the lords Lovat, but I can't seem to find the connection. His grandfather was the Very Reverend Donald Fraser; after that I got a bit er...stuck.

Thanks Richard. When you say 'apparently' where has that come from? Who is saying he's descended from the the lords Lovat?

I had an awful feeling someone would ask me that! This from the 'Herald of Scotland' (a similar article appeared in The Telegraph):

Descended from the chiefs of the Fraser clan, Peter Lovat Fraser was born in Luanshya, Zambia, on May 29, 1945, three weeks after the end of the war in Europe in which many of his clansmen and his father's relatives had fought, including the legendary D-Day commando leader Lord Lovat (Simon Fraser). His father, the Rev George Robson Fraser, from Morningside, Edinburgh, was in Zambia as a Church of Scotland minister and missionary along with his wife Helen (née Meiklejohn)".

Sorry; I know that unsupported info is pretty unacceptable - hence the word 'apparently'.

Cheers
