Death notice for Christiane Oakes, 60 of Lyford Cay, Nassau, The Bahamas died peacefully at her residence, on Saturday, 27th April, 2024.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry Oakes, sixty (60) years of marriage.
She is survived by her sons Harry Newell, Philip Gale and Michael Lewis Oakes, daughter Bianca Eunice Oakes; grandson Michael Rolof Oakes, granddaughters, Taylor Oakes, Chelsea Christiane Brown, Kirsten Sydney Oakes, Marie-Serena Oakes and Hunter Lori Oakes, son-in-law Vincent Paul Iuliano; daughters-in- law Lauric Emilie Oakes and Lori Jean Oakes and many other relatives and close friends.[….]

She was the only d of Rudolf BOTSCH of Hamburg, Germany.  She m 1958 Harry Philip OAKES (1932-?), yst s of Sir Harry Oakes, 1st Baronet (cr 1939) (1874-1943) and (m 1923) Eunice Myrtle MCINTYRE and had 3 s and a d as above.  

As can be seen from the notice her h, uncle of the present 3rd Bt, predeceased her.  The grandson Michael Rolof OAKES may well be in remainder  - unable to ascertain if he is in DPB online.  Her children were all shown as unm in DPB 2019.

There is a mistake somewhere. If she was only "60" but married in 1958 and was married for over 60 years............

Thanks - yes, I spotted that but only after I had posted. Assuming 60 years of marriage is correct, this suggests that her husband died c 2018.  Perhaps she was aged 90 rather than 60 and there is a misprint.

According to a press report from 3rd March 1958 when they secretly got married, Christiane was 18 (possibly she had recently turned 18 so b.1940). The obituary in the Nassau Guardian gives the same date of death at age of 84. Harry Oakes was no longer a director of various family companies by 2019 so yes 2018 would seem right for his death.
