From the Times of 8 May 2014: MAY Mary (nee Morshead) died on 4th May 2014. Wife of the late Sir John May, mother of Simon, Juliet and Nicolas, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend. Private cremation. No flowers please, donations if wished to Oracle Cancer Trust. Memorial service announced later.
She was d of Sir Owen MORSHEAD GCVO KCB DSO MC (1893-1977), scion of that gentry family of Lamerton and sometime Royal Librarian, and Francisca de la Escosura (1905-2002, known as Paquita) d of J G HAGEMEYER of Florence. She m 1958 Rt Hon Sir John Douglas MAY (1923-97), a Lord Justice of Appeal, and had 2 sons and a dau as above.
